Rebrand // Apologies
Silver Deer has been shot. Welcome to Inverse Void.
There’s an incredible amount of embarrassment when people subscribe to you and entrust you with consistency, and you disappear for half a year and come back with a complete rebrand of the page.
I am sorry for that, my dearest subscribers, I truly am.
But at the very core of things, nothing is actually changing. Things just look different, because I cannot stand light mode on anything anymore.
The name “Silver Deer” holds relevance in my novel, which is the reason I chose the name in the beginning of this newsletter.
But.
The novel is still being written. So, it is unpublished, and Silver Deer makes no sense to anyone else but me. And the logical problem is that once the novel is published, I will probably like to continue using this page for my writing musings, and tying it to an element of first book seems silly, in retrospect of course.
I’m rambling, I hope it makes sense.
Why the name Inverse Void?
My thoughts and my novel ideas tether between absolute darkness of the mind, and the the bringer of light, paladin mindset. I explored many words and concepts to arrive at Inverse Void. I wanted both opposites somehow included, but that is only after careful deliberations of different ideas.
Some of the contenders were Butterfly Oath, as it rolls off the tongue so nicely, and many iterations of the word dark or paladin or light, and scrolling through Dark Souls spells and sets, and the Paladin class abilities in WoW, but ultimately, it was a decision made based on availability of the name on Substack. It took a few hours.
The page is now visually unified, with deepfried photos I took a decade ago; it is in dark mode and easier on the eyes, and I’m much happier with it now. I sincerely hope you like it, too.
Now I can finally continue writing my damned novel. Closing in on 40k words, so stay tuned!
Thank you for being cool.
